Company Information
The company was founded by Steve Luckey in 1987. The business was grown to ten locations in Dallas and Houston. In 1997 Steve sold to an investment group. Steve has returned with his partner Rich Rochelle to provide fast, friendly, affordable automotive paint services.
The company was revitalized in 2006. In that year over 1,000 cars were painted.
Steve Luckey has been in the automotive industry his entire life. He began with Senty/Dairyland insurance company in Houston, Texas as an estimator in 1980. From there he was hired by Tom Gray Datsun in 1982 as a body shop estimator. After moving to Dallas to be with his longtime friend Rich Rochelle he went to work for Toyota of Dallas as an assistant manager in the body shop. Steve increased the quality in the body shop at Toyota of Dallas and soon learned he had overseen the best year the Toyota dealership had ever seen. When Crawford and Company insurance adjusters came calling and once again he was the top producer in a very large and busy claims office. In 1987 the first Steve Luckey’s Quality Auto Painting opened on Stemmons Freeway. Three months later the second one opened in Duncanville and within three years there were five auto painting facilities in Dallas and five in Houston. In 1997 Steve sold his shops to a consolidator and purchased a twenty year old independent insurance claims office. The office was faltering at the time and in five years the volume quadrupled. In 2002 Steve was injured while riding motocross and sold his company to a minority partner. After healing at the end of 2002 he was hired to design / build and manage the collision center for North Texas Nissan in Corinth. After one year of being open the collision center volume doubled and a second store was opened in Lewisville to handle the overflow.In 2006 Steve left North Texas Nissan and took over the Lewisville location with his partner Rich.
Rich Rochelle graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1983. He went to work for Texas Instruments as a test engineer. In 1989 he left TI to join Dallas Semiconductor. Rich worked his way up from a product engineer to the director of the department. In 2006 he left Dallas Semiconductor to partner up with Mr. Luckey and Luckey’s Quality Auto Painting.
The combination of Mr. Luckey’s years of experience in the automotive repair and refinishing industry along with Mr. Rochelle’s engineering background provide a one two punch that can’t be duplicated. Luckey’s will provide you with expert painting services the competition can’t compete with
