Color Shifting Auto Paint
Recently, color shifting auto paint have given the specialty car painting industry new methods for creative, unique paint options. People love to have autos that are unique and make a statement and this color shifting auto paint certainly does just that.
Color shift paints are available which shift from blue to purple, red to gold, silver to green, and green to purple. More color changing auto paints are certain to be on the horizon. The effect can be dramatic as the viewer moves and light changes causing distinct color changes.
ColorShift (tm) opened the market with their ChromaFlair ® pigment that causes light interference. Developed b Flex Products, a California company, this pigment is used in textiles and plastics using multiple layers of flakes which cause light to change the visible colors.
Strangely enough, Flex Products uses pigments make of colorless materials to create this amazing effect. This pigment allows the auto paint flakes to reflect light different when viewed from various angles.
Other paint manufacturers are, of course, jumping on the bandwagon and finding ways to create unlimited color designs. The future of auto painting will clearly include the develop of even more color shifting paint pigment combinations.
The more options available for customized specialty paint, the more unique an auto paint job can become and every custom car fan loves to have a different look for their ride. This trend is expected to continue and we should see some major new developments, perhaps even three or four color changing paints, in the future.
